What in woman is menopause, in men it is called andropause. If you are 45 years or older, you will likely begin to lose production of testosterone, the male hormone that is responsible for keeping you sexually active.
Men’s changes are not as noticeable as that of women and often differ depending on whether you exercise or if you have adequate food. If you have suffered bad health or illnesses, such as mumps, this can affect your sexual health and accelerate their andropause. The most common symptoms are:
- Decreased sexual desire
- Less abundant ejaculation and a weak pulse
- Possibility of having children reduced
- Less lasting erections
- Loss of muscle mass
- Weight gain particularly fat accumulation in the abdomen
- Risk of heart problems and osteoporosis
